Collection of Silk Scarves will be Exhibited in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida

The exhibit on Saturday, December 18th, 2010, will feature new prints of marine subjects.
The colors are bold blues, oranges, fushcias, and deep purple. The images below offer a few examples of the work that will be exhibited.

The above is a detailed view of the scarve image above it.

This is a thinner scarf, around 9 inches by 54 inches, and will be presented with a few others.
The print is angled and more random. Also several drawings were used in the printings of these thinner scarves.

Some new Silks _Imitation Pastels

The following is a square silk piece that is a beginning to a landscape. I am still working on the print and find this piece so precious that it is becoming difficult for me to tackle it to finish. I will snap a photo as soon as it is complete, but for now this is a work in progress:

My process has branched out onto printing on textiles. The effects that can be had thro

ugh this process is both fascinating and frustating, For one, there is no shortage of outcomes and as my prints progress so will my color combinations and ultimate outcome. On the other end, I am still experimenting to create desired designs and images that can convey a scene, say a landscape or an environment. Above is overhead view of a small town with roads and homes.

I have been dipping fabric into different batches of colors, sometimes twisting and tying the fabric to achieve different shapes.

I am drawn to the look of color and visual texture that can be had through the use of dry pastel. It is important to me to maintain the interest I find in images created with pastels. Abstraction allows me to keep the visual integrity I prefer in my images. Everyday objects, occupationally, domestic and educational elements are represented in my drawings and the objects are primarily organic. Through this refined method I describe the thing that is what appeals to me.
